EKT Otic Ointment compounded for dogs
EKT otic ointment is a combination formulation containing antibacterial, antifungal, and steroid activity commonly prescribed to treat small animals.
The EKT otic ear pack contains these active medications: Enrofloxacin 1%, Ketoconazole 2%, and Triamcinolone 0.1%. Brand names for Enrofloxacin and Ketoconazole are, respectively, Baytril® and Nizoral®. Inactive ingredients are Lanolin Anhydrous and mineral oil NF.
This medication is shipped in a Dial-A-Dose syringe. Dial-A-Dose offers controlled metered dispensing and precision placement of the ointment. The EKT otic ear pack is available in a ½- and 1-lb. container.
Like other SVPMEDS compounded ointments, EKT otic ointment is run through our ointment mill, which breaks down particles and makes the topical solution creamier. The ointment mill uses high shear force to reduce particle sizes, disperse agglomerates, and homogenize viscous materials. It provides a smoother, silkier ointment, with finer particles. Finer particles provide a more even mix and better contact.
A written prescription from a licensed veterinarian is required for this compounded medication.
