Piroxicam capsule compounded for dogs and cats is helpful in reducing the pain and inflammation related with degenerative joint disease in dogs. Its main use in dogs is adjunctive treatment of bladder transitional cell carcinoma. Piroxicam can also be helpful in squamous cell carcinomas, mammary adenocarcinoma and transmissible veneral tumor.  There is some use of Piroxicam in cats for its anti-tumor effects, but there is no documentation on its safety or efficacy and should be used with caution.
