Uses – L-Carnitine may be useful as adjunctive therapy of dilated cardiomyopathy in dogs. Up to 90% of dogs with dilated cardiomyopathy may have a carnitine deficiency. In cats L-Carnitine has been recommended as being useful as an adjunctive therapy in feline hepatic lipidosis by facilitating hepatic lipid metabolism.

Uses – Melatonin can be helpful in the treatment of Alopecia-X in Nordic breeds, pattern baldness in dogs, and or persistent flank alopecia in dogs. It has been used subjectively for sleep cycle disorders in felines and geriatric dogs and to help phobias and separation anxiety in canines.
